Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • slices bread cubed
  • ½ medium sweet onion chopped fine

Topping Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Catsup
  • ½ tbsp brown sugar


  • Preheat oven to 375⁰F. Mix main ingredients thoroughly by hand. Place into a greased loaf pan or iron skillet.

  • Bake at 375⁰ in center rack about 45 minutes (for small cast iron skillet, foil covered) or about 80 minutes (for loaf pan, uncovered).

  • About 10 minutes before baking time is done, drain the grease, add the mixed topping ingredients, and finish baking uncovered. Meatloaf generally should be about 160°F internal temp.
