This marinade is incredible and best suited for steaks but can be also used for other cuts of beef such as roasts. It makes a little over a cup, which is right for about 2-3 pounds of steak.

Ingredients
⅓cupsoy sauce
⅓cuplime juice
⅓cupoilvegetable oil (corn, peanut, or olive oil). Avoid sesame or coconut oil.
3Tbspdark brown sugarAlternate option: ½ tsp molasses per ¼ cup granulated sugar.
1tspground cumin
1tspGround Black Pepper
½Tbspchili powder
⅔Tbspminced garlicAlternate: ½ this qty if using garlic powder.
Instructions
To make the marinade, combine all ingredients in a container (bowl or food storage bag). Optionally, you can cut a few deep slits into the meat, if thicker than ¾-inch.
Add the meat to the container used for the marinade. Cover or seal it.
Refrigerator Option: Place the marinating meat in the fridge (minimum of 45 minutes to a maximum of 24 hours) for cooking the same or next day.Freezer Option: Place it in the freezer for cooking in the future (no need for any waiting time before freezer placement). On the day before cooking, you can place it in the fridge for natural thawing and continued marinating.
