How To Make Tomato Cucumber Onion Salad
This is how to make this tomato cucumber onion salad. Start with 3 common vegetables of tomato, cucumber, and red onion. All are an amount. Next, see each one prepared.
The classic way is to carve the tomato into 8 sections. Then, slice an unpeeled cucumber about 1/8-inch thick, i.e., about 6 to 8 slices per inch of cucumber. Slice the peeled onion to be about 1/4-inch thick and then separate them into rings. And, of course, don’t use the ends of the veggies.
Carve large tomato into 8 sections, medium into 6, and small ones into 4 sections.
Slice a cucumber to get about 6-8 slices per inch.
Slice red onion for thick 1/4-inch slices.
The 1-to-1 ratio refers to the space each vegetable takes in the salad bowl. In other words, they should all appear equally balanced. For this reason, the recipe helps and gets it close.
For example, look at a 2 servings salad. Use about 1-1/2 inches of cucumber slices, one 8 sectioned large tomato, and 2 slices of onions, rings separated. And then add the dressing. Finally, toss the salad to mix it all up. Also, if you need it, here’s how to peel an onion properly.
